“Ah-...” Sam is caught slightly off guard at the pleasant feeling. After so many traps in the ruins, she was expecting something else to happen. She merely sits there in silence for a second before replying to Benedict. “It's definitely got healing properties, or at least pain relief. Ma’ hands feel brand spankin’ new.”
It was magnificent, awe inspiring even. These little plants seemed so... friendly. And to be confined in a place like this, filled with death traps. Who wanted to hide these and why? Of course, there could’ve been any number of reasons, so perhaps it was best not to wonder.
“Well these are definitely what we’re lookin’ for but uh…” Sam scratches her head. “How are we gonna move ‘em? I don't know anythin’ about them or what they need to survive. I don't want ta’ pick ‘em out just for ‘em to die. If we can we should try to set the table for us to cultivate ‘em for the future.”
It was likely a bit ridiculous, but the doctor was beginning to feel like the parent of these plants — the Mother Hen if you will. Improperly caring for her children was absolutely off the table. After all, they just healed her hands out of the kindness of their little plant hearts!

Benedict gently brushes the petals of of one of the flowers as he thinks. "You make a good point there, Sammy." He stops briefly and then looks to her. "Y'don't mind if I call you Sammy, right?"
He sits down and gets bit more comfortable taking a moment to just look about the field of flowers. "Got one of those Aura Quartz things? I could get in contact with some people and have them try to bring some equipment. Alternatively we could try and dig one up... though I've got nothing to put it in like a vase or a bottle or a box of some kind. Y'know, for the dirt." he shrugs briefly before continuing. "Truth be told, I didn't honestly think'd find anything here." He scratches the back of his head in his typical manner and flashes a charming smile towards Sam.

“Oh, ‘course! Fine by me,” Samantha nods in approval. Benedict didn’t seem to have a feasible plan for taking any samples. It amused her that he didn’t think there’d be anything of note in the cave. It likely meant curiosity drove him here; the same type that got Sam herself into all sorts of trouble. Of course, having spent what little time she had with him, she could definitely say the man had little rhyme and almost no reason. His smile wasn’t so bad though!
“Ahh yeah, I don’t have one ‘a them… Should probably investin’ one though.” Sam stares at the plant in deep thought. “We could just take one ‘a these but...” The Doctor takes out her journal and writes a rough analysis of the plant’s features, including a sketch as well as a description of the sensation she felt on contact.
After some moments of silence, inspiration strikes. “Ya said a bottle ‘er somethin’, right?” Sam says to Ben. “Based on tha climate in here, I can’t imagine they need much ta live on,” she takes her canteen and chugs the rest of the remaining water. “We can prolly take one ‘a them and have a little container full ‘a dirt here for it till we get ta town. Here...” Sam starts filling her bottle full of the dirt around the plants. She was a bit saddened that she couldn’t come up with a better plan that allowed for more samples, but she absolutely didn’t want her sweet children to come to harm.
“Can ya help me dig this’n out?” Sam points to the flower she initially touched. “Be careful now! Ya hurt the plant ‘n I’ll beat ya senseless!” She yells humorously. The Doctor puts her face close to the plant and addresses it like a small child, “Okay lil’ one, we’re gonna getcha outta there ‘n take ya home! I’ll be real careful 'a promise...”

Benedict's face lights up at the idea of using her canteen, it really was a lucky break. "Ah, yes, brilliant!" he praises her and begins carefully digging up the flower in question making sure not to harm any of the roots or the other plants. A good five minutes later he presents the whole plant - it's surprisingly long though it will fit at least partially into the canteen just fine. At the end of it's roots is a tight knot that bundles everything up naturally. It's a little usual but then so were the plants and this place to begin with.
The plant shows no signs of harm and Benedict smiles at Sam with a satisfied expression. "Well, here you go! 'M rather curious what we can learn from it."

"Well I'll be danged! Good job, partner!” Sam clasps her hands in joy before taking her canteen back. The plant was probably much safer in her hands… Either way, Samantha was extremely happy that a sample could be taken so efficiently. There was no telling how many lives could be improved by this sweet little plant.
“Yep! Just gotta get back outta here safely now,” Sam replies, looking around the area one last time to see if there was anything she missed. As much as she loved her plant children, their choice of habitat was… strenuous for their mother. The darkness of the cave, not to mention all the traps, gave Sam little room to relax. The sooner she could get back outside, the better off her psyche’d be.
“See anythin’ ya gotta have, Ben?”

Benedict takes a moment to glance across the wide room. Then up the stairs, and one last time back at the plants. He scratches the back of his head in though and turns his attention back to sam. "Can't think of anything, to be honest."
A cool breeze wafts through the room gently swaying the rest of the plants back and forth. If the two didn't know any better it'd look like they're waving their goodbyes. Though the draft begins to chill the place down creating a stark contrast to the hot outdoors.
"Well... shall we?" Benedict asks and gestures towards the stairs.

“Alrighty then!” Sam says, turning to look at the plants one last time. “S’pose it's time fer us ta go! Y'all take care now, ya hear?” A deep pang of sadness slams her chest as the plants wave goodbye. She had never been one for goodbyes with uncertain reunions. “Sis…” In a way, these little flowers were like her sister and her magic. An enigma, but a blessing nonetheless. She was sure that no matter where she was, Hycsis was out there changing people’s lives for the better… She just missed her was all.
Samantha turns away from Ben and begins swiftly heading up back the way they came, trying to hide her teary eyes as best she can. Wiping her eyes as if she had something in them, she speaks in her best “normal” voice. “Say Ben, are you staying back at Clithrow?” She says, wanting to make idle chatter to keep herself together.

Oblivious as proven normal by now Benedict climbs the stairs with Sam without noticing her emotional state. "Hmm, suppose you could say that. I travel a lot so 'm never in the same place for too long." he glances down at his side recalling the notes he's lost to that perilous climb. And actually that was a good thing to think about.
The two make it to the top where the bridge connects the stairs to the entrance of the room and begin making their way across. "Wonder if there's more places like this. Who could have built it and what're those flowers. You suppose someone planted 'em or did they grow naturally?" he chuckles at the use of the word 'natural' as there is nothing natural about them. Not in the conventional sense anyway.

Having had a few moments to collect herself, Sam wipes one last tear away as Ben finishes talking about traveling. “So ya travel alot. Definitely understand wantin’ ta do that. I can't keep mahself halfway still mosta’ tha time.” She wanted to ask him if he would travel with her, but she sheepishly held her tongue. She shouldn't get ahead of herself. There'd be a more appropriate time to bring that up later, should she still feel the same way about it.
As the duo retraces their steps, Benedict brings up the origins of the ruins as well as the plants themselves. “There’s all sortsa’ stuff like this all over Glayp’nier! There's gotta be. ‘Course, this is wunna the very few I've been to that had traps like this… I'm sure whoever built this place, did it with them in mind.” She hoists up the canteen a little. “I dunno if they started here, but I ain't seen anything like it outside that’s for sure. Maybe this was here to protect ‘em?” She looks to the plant in thought as they continue.
“Say, how are we supposed ta’ get back out?” Samantha finally says. “It’s gonna be kinda risky with our new passenger…”

"Funny you mention that... was wondering that myself" benedict says as he scratches the back of his head. The two exit the large round room and cross into the next when benedict lifts his fist to his mouth in thought. "Hmm..."
He stops abruptly as he comes into the puzzle room and his face drains a pale hue. "Ah-!" he exclaims as he stares at the floor. "Oh no! I've forgotten the safe tiles to set on!" he begins to work himself into a moment. "However will be get back out of here!" he slaps the side of his face with both hands and exclaims; "Oh nooo! what will we do?" in an overly dramatic fashion, seemingly assuming that Sam would have forgotten also.
