While not known for its beauty or glamour, the certain part of Recudor the group was traveling through was particularly dilapidated. For every storefront or warehouse that was being used, another dozen or so were being left to slowly rot away. Foot traffic was light but constant down the main road, varying from the homeless to traders looking to sell their wares. Occasionally an armed convoy would pass by, carts loaded down with supplies that were being transported to warehouses to be either traded or sold. After walking for about 15 minutes, Ana slows down and address both Hycsis and Lumen. “The ship isn't much farther from here, before we board do you two have an questions you'd like to ask Rachel or myself?”

Hycsis followed along with the rest, not really entirely interested in conversation. Being brought so close to that Leviathan earlier still kind of stuck with her since despite her surprisingly friendly gesture there was still something unmistakably predatory about it that wasn't lost on the tanned Alv.
Walking through the more run down part of the city should be a shock given she remembers what this place looked like just six years prior. The streets used to be filled with all kinds of merchants, stores, entertainers and more day in day out. It's like the images of the past still dance and play about in-front of her; The memories of savory smells and laughter lingering in the cracks of stone and rotting walls of dilapidated buildings. The duke's liberal managing of the trade guild's presence here was really starting to show, at least in the south. Perhaps this would have been a good opportunity to visit her dear sister but something about the idea of looking into her eyes a second time after so many years felt shameful.
Lost in thought, Hycsis nearly didn't hear what Anastasia was asking from them. "Mh..." She isn't really sure she has any questions up front. Small curiosities but nothing that they weren't going to find out when they arrived. She, again, glances over to the Leviathan from the corner of her eyes. The exotic creature seems to waver back and forth between being beautiful and having a dangerous attitude. Her whole aura was reminiscent to the whole 'calm before a storm' concept and imagining a misstep let alone sleeping near her was menacing. "What will our quarters look like?" she wonders. If they were going to make her share a room she would but...

The streets of Recudor looked a bit more rundown than Lumen remembered, but not by much. She had made her home in the underbelly of the city for quite a few years prior. Of course home held a frivolous meaning for her.
Lumen kept up with her company but didn't pay them heed, instead eyeing the transports on the road. It was safe to say that nothing was sacred on these particular streets, so the armed transports made sense. Though it all felt a bit lackluster compared to its earlier days — like it lost its soul, its individuality. There was nothing here but humorless shopkeeps and bums that didn't have anything to take. She couldn't wait to get the hell out of there.
After some time passes, Ana asks the two recruits if they had any questions. Hycsis makes a noise seemingly in thought, before inquiring about living quarters. It made Lumen snicker lightly. The Alv wouldn't have even brought something like that up, had she not been at least a little bit nervous. Then again, maybe that wasn't the case, after all she’s barely had any sort of conversation with the girl.
“How many we got on board, Foxy?” Lumen asks once Ana finishes answering Hycsis’ question.

As they walked along Rachel turns. Walking backwards she looks to Hycsis. "Your quarters will be single rooms. The ship itself has three levels. We will enter on the second. Thats where cargo is placed towards the bow of the ship. The quarters and dining hall and what not will be towards the stern." She turns and slows her pace to circle around next to Hycsis. "The rooms themselves are about 10' by 10' I'd say. The door is metal and locks from the inside. You will be supplied a bed." She looks down at Hycsis smirking. "Yes these will be new. You needn't worry." As Rachel speaks her left hand rests on the holster of her pistol. "You are free to decorate them as you see fit. A desk will be there as well. Also a light source. That too can be changed, but everything else will be purchased by you." Rachel's steps are accented by the clicking of her cane. "If you ever leave however. Your belongings are to leave with you. Everything that was given to you will stay. Nothing will be saved if you wish to return at a later date. That is not to say if you journey off on a mission or orders." As they walk others in the shadows and alleys watch. The girls themselves stick out badly here. Everyone is dressed elegantly. Say for Lumen. Though her stance and posture gave away that she wasn't a resident of the area. "Everyone is expected to get along. As we mostly do. Anything that happens between the crew is dealt by the crew. Or the persons involved. Fights are expected at some point, but if the captain is to step in." Her eyes shift back down to Hycsis and then up to Lumen. "I suggest you stop. If you are told to not do something I'd stop that too."
"As for our current crew." Rachel answers for Ana. "We have Myself and Ana. The captain, the doctor. Fatts is our muscle up until now." She glances up Lumen's body. "Hopefully you can live up to it Lumen." Rachel turns to the alleys. Watching those watching them. "We also have the two mages whom charge the ship. Most times we sail, but if we are short of time. Or are after someone. We fly." Four of the ones watching begin to follow the girls not thirty feet back. Rachel continues to speak. Not giving away that she knows they are being trailed. "So... as of right now we have seven of us. It can be a bit taxing at times because of low staff, but we make dew."

Hycsis sighs in relief as the private quarters are mentioned. "Gott sei dank." She thinks to herself imagining what could have been. She continues listening to Rachel attentively as she explains the rest of the details to her. Small, private, comfortable. Once again she glances to the exotic woman next to her and shudders.
A small click draws her attention back to Rachel. "Right. Understood." she confirms in regards to her own spending. It's now that she takes note of Rachel's subtle posture. Her normal response would be to cock her head in wonder but the situation doesn't exactly seem to warrant it. Rachel doesn't seem concerned so perhaps it is nothing. However, Hycsis isn't the most stealthy person around so she simply goes on as if it really were nothing without the need to reach for her book or anything. Likely nothing is going to come from this, or at least so the small Alv tells herself again.
After a few moments she zones out causing her missing the rest of what Rachel has to say in answer to Lumens questions. Sure enough however she can feel the subtle steps not terribly far behind. "Kollegen vielleicht? Oder... nen schlaeger." While initially nervous, Hycsis loses her worries soon enough. She doesn't even bother to look back. It doesn't really matter what they are after. She glances between her three companions once more. Well... four counting the small fox.
It really doesn't matter.

Lumen listens to Rachel as she talks about the living accommodations; immediately tuning out after the size of the rooms was revealed. Decorating was never her thing. Give her a bed and she was good to go. Hell, she wasn't going to grow old on the damn ship or anything. It was just a job. Rachel mentions the crew’s “muscle,” a person named “Fatts.” This causes Lumen to pipe up.
“Bah, ‘m shore me ‘n Fatts’ll hit it off just fine.” The Leviathan says, eyeing some occupied storefronts, but not paying particular attention to detail. In all honesty she was a bit irritated that she didn't get her second pint in before leaving, but she was sure she could convince Rachel to make up for it later.
Lumen’s gaze drifts over to Hycsis just as she looks away. As unhinged as the rogue’s demeanor was, a genuine curiosity lay underneath the surface. “Aye, guhrl” she says, not looking directly at Hycsis. “Where’r ya shoes? Not enough gil ‘r ya gotta screw loose from all that magic?”
Due to her general disinterest in everything but the Loremaster, Lumen remains relatively unaware of the four others following the women.

Ana begins to slowly remove her makeshift disguise, satisfied that the coast is clear. “Also, if I might add, please do be a couple of darlings and attempt to keep your living quarters somewhat respectable. Difficult though it may be, I insist we keep our vessel as clean as possible. Appearance is everything after all!” Ana then place a finger on her lip in thought. “Actually speaking off cleaning, I do hope Eli took care of her mess...I swear that girl will be the death of me!” Ana mutters to herself. She then moves to hand Rachel back her belongings. “Thank you my dear, but I honestly think they look better on you.” Ana says with a hint of sarcasm.
Rachel's eyes narrow at Ana's final comment. She takes back her coat and glasses, and tosses Ana's back. "You wish you looked at good at me..." She says flipping her coat back on. She looks over to Lumen. "Be careful with Fatts Lumen. He is... How should I put this... Not very sociable." Once her coat is back around Rachel doesn't put her hand back on the gun. "We are being trailed..." She says still looking forward. "I'm not one to be late..." She says glaring at Ana. "We were to be back at a certain time and dealing with whatever trifle those behind us would be a set back. It shouldn't be much longer. We are just about at the docks." As Rachel speaks two more men appear in the front. One on either side of the road. Though others are roaming the six here feel a bit frogy and might attack. Rachel keeps her pace.
"Ello my duckies..." The man on the right says. His garb it slightly different from the man on the left. It would be a good guess that he might be leading the other five men. He draws his sword. His smile shows missing teeth. The man on the left takes out what appears to be a crudely put together rifle. The four in the back begin to snicker. Though Hycsis can't see them. She can feel the energy in the air change slightly. Almost if someone is casting magic for show. As if intimidating the bystanders to shoo them away. (Should the party chose to engage a small fight will break out, but if left alone they will continue.)

Her suspicions turned out correct. Though Hycsis is quite glad she didn't decide to react on impulse. The information she gathered would prove invaluable. She takes a moment to study the two men ahead and sways enough in her steps to bump into Lumen hoping to draw her attention.
Hycsis makes sure that the shooters vision is blocked by Rachel's body and her cloak obscures enough of her motions not to alert the ones behind her.
If she manages to do so and get Lumen's attention she will wiggle her left hand in front of her then summon the tiniest orb of light in her right and flick it towards herself. As it makes contact with her body it disperses into tiny bright sparks. Lastly she nods at Anastasia and makes a cross with two fingers. She knows nothing about this women save that her brash nature and toned body could be a strong asset for their group. If her hunch is right the leviathan will pick up on her suggestion and if not then she will have learned a valuable lesson for the future.
For now - she continues on to the group and waits to see what Rachel or Anastasia's reaction will be. "Zeit zu verschwenden is sinnlos. Vielleicht koennen wir es vermeiden." she thinks to herself and begins building an orb of light under cover of her right sleeve.

With her hands in her pockets Lumen slows to a stop, having had her conversation cut short by toothless wonder. The rogue hated being interrupted, she hated being ignored, she hated being told no, and she definitely hated being considered a target by a group of no-names stalking the shitty part of Recudor.
Just before she goes to voice her irritation, she feels a slight bump at her side. It was Hycsis. Conjuring an orb and flicking it to herself, the Alv looks to Ana and crosses her fingers. The somewhat rusty gears in her head started turning but ground to a halt soon after. Plans were a bit too involved for her… but she did happen to take note of the gun toting man in front of her. Maybe the bookworm had something up her sleeve to stop a bullet. Lumen looks over her shoulder and spots the other four people behind her. “Hmph,” she scoffs. They’d do just fine.
“Mmm…” Lumen hums like she's suddenly had a revelation. Her four tentacles separate and look a bit ominously around her. “Whattya gen’leman doing today?” Her face made it obvious she wasn't trying to talk her way out of anything. “A’see! Hard at work! What’s ya job title? Wharf inspector a’some such? Eh whatever.” Lumen squints her eyes slightly and then clicks her tongue repeatedly. “Pay not good?" A moment of further examination, "Dental's not included either? Tsa'shame" The Leviathan shakes her head in a disappointed manner.
Should Lumen successfully provoke the rifleman to shoot, she will turn around and engage the four behind her. Hopefully Rachel is a quick shot. It'd more than make up for the missing beer.

The rifleman grins. "Aye lass. Wharf inspector. I'll need you to come over 'ere for some inspectin before I dock." The men in the back snicker. "Pays just fine and we don't need no dental." He says. "So my don't you come on 'ova and step in me back office." The man motions down a side road. "Me inspection can be rough though." The rifleman is unprovoked.
Ana turns around to face the threat, a look of disgust appearing on her face. “Oh dear... aren't you quite the nasty fellow? She says addressing the one who spoke. “Normally I would advise avoiding conflict with us to save yourself from being horribly disfigured, but I don't think anything worse can be done to that thing you call a face.” Ana then shifts her hand towards her weapon. “You're quite the talker aren't you lass? I think I know how to fix that...” Says one of the goons in the back who pulls out a knife. This causes Ana to let out a sigh and turns back around. “You poor gutter rats truly are the worst at picking out a target. Rachel, please inform these dense delinquents that this is their last and final chance to cease and desist from this very unwise course of action!”
“Eh...boss, what'd she just say?" The goon with the rifle exclaims.
"She callin' us gutter trash you daft bastard!" The man on the right exclaims. "I say we teach 'em how to treat respectable hard working class men! What say you boys?" The leader questions. The men rile and cheer as the rest of the street clears out. No one will be coming to help.
Rachel never said a thing. Her foot was taping the whole time as the men ran her late. "I'm gonna be late... I'm gonna be late..." She looks at Ana. "YOU were late. Not they are makin' me late. This whole day is late!" Rachel's increased frustration began to irritate the men. She wasn't giving them the attention they were looking for.
"Eh screw the formalities!" The leader of the men spits. "Kill 'em all. We can sell the small one!" The Leader changes as the Rifleman readied the gun. (there are 6 total. 4 melee, 1 rifleman and 1 mage.)

"Tch." Hycsis exhales her annoyance through her teeth as the men begin to become more unruly. She would have preferred to avoid a fight all-together but these kinds of things were likely to become common place. At least it gave her more information about her colleagues personalities.
She would have also preferred if Ana hadn't turned around -- but she would have to deal with it. The blast should be far enough away in any case. These thugs don't really seem to have the brains to think too hard about their situation so with any luck her little trick would work. Worst case scenario she'd be perfectly safe near the leviathan. Probably... Maybe. With some extra luck.
She spins about, covering her eyes, and lobs the orb of light she created towards the four men behind them. With any luck if the Leviathan hadn't caught on to her previous suggestion she would at least be attracted by the flash of light that by all means should blind or at least distract them.
Regardless of their reaction, unless she's interrupted she will then take a step near the Leviathan so she acts as somewhat of a shield between hycsis and the thugs and casts her speed buff; "Cor, fornax ardens caritatis, Unum Celeritas: Lumen!" As she speaks, subtle particles surround both herself and Lumen quickly empowering the leviathan. When hycsis speaks her name out loud, Lumen can feel a surge of energy course through her body.

Lumen laughs heartily at the man’s proposal. He clearly had no idea what he was doing. If they walked into his “office” he’d be bone-dry in 30 minutes, and dead by the end of the hour. That’s quickly derailed however, as Ana throws enough big words at the men to sufficiently piss them off.
Once the fight breaks out, Lumen notices the flash from behind her. It seemed that Hycsis had thrown some sort of flashbang. Seeing the small mage try to quickly dart beside her, Lumen understood what was happening. “Gimme ya best dose!” She begins running toward the 4 men to intercept them before they reach Hycsis.
Even if she fails to gain the speed buff, Lumen will attempt to use her tentacles to wrap around and snap a leg of each of the four men.

The four men charge. As the ball of light is hurled the bandit mage has a slight moment to cover his eyes. He comes to a complete stop as the other three continue. The man closest to Lumen takes the full brunt of the light. However it doesn't stop him. "GOOD LORD!!!' He yells out as he covers his eyes to late. Though he currently can't see He swings in the direction Lumen was. Luckily Hycsis's buff was able to reach her before contact granting her the chance to grab the man by the leg and break it throwing his already poor aim into the ditch. The swing misses Lumen, but only barely. (first man is blinded and crippled.)
The second man was blinded as well. Although he has seen Lumen's tentacles separate not but a moment ago. He covers his eyes as he runs and chanced a jump. Hazarding a guess the tentacles were coming for him. Regardless of sight. Lumen misses the chance to grab this man's leg. Yet because of the speed the man hadn't put enough force into his jump quick enough and Lumen's tentacle managed to hit the man's foot before he got to high. Causing him to tumble not a few feet in front of Lumen and Hycsis. He struggles to get up, and in a literally blind attempt to protect himself he begins flailing his weapon. (advancement is possible on this target. However due to the man's sporadic attacks any attempted party melee attack may result in a hit, or it may not.)
The third man was too blinded. Hycsis manages to visually disrupt three of their four assailants. The third man. Notably the furthest back of the the three melee attackers. Covers his eyes as well and banks off to the right. Lumen's attack misses the man completely. He staggers and dives towards a stand and some crates to give him some cover. It wasn't the most graceful of jumps. Pieces of wood and some light sale items fly out from the other side of the crates. "FUCK ME!!!" He shouts upon impact. Clearly these men weren't used to fighting others who had a decent concept on how to protect themselves.
The mage steps back a few feet as he watches his companions ever so gracefully break. "GEEZE HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO WALK ON YOUR OWN?!?!?!" He exclaims as he begins to cast a ball of fire. Due to his situation he doesn't have the ability to currently do anything stronger. He focuses for a few seconds at the other men occupy their targets. Out of the two girls he doesn't know who to aim for. If he aim's for Hycsis he could negate any buff she could apply. Yet there is no guarantee that Lumen couldn't reach him before he could case again. If he wen't after Lumen he would be unprepared for anything else Hycsis could do. His choices were limited, and his time was desperately short. He decides to attack Lumen. He once again steps back and spins swinging his staff. Launching the ball of fire at Lumen. Hoping the extra momentum he applied to the attack would lead to a successful hit.
“When will they ever learn…” Ana says drawing her sword at a ready position. She then lets out a whistle, causing Paz’s ears to shoot up at attention. “Paz, be a good girl for mommy and show this street filth what happens when they step out of line.” Understanding her every word, Paz gets down low into a pouncing position, growling as she sets off towards the group of men. Ana follows up closely behind her, charging straight towards the leader of the group. Once within striking distance the leader immediately takes a hard swing at Ana, which she easily deflects. “Surely you must have more patience than that darling” She taunts at the man. This only seems to enrage him as he begins swinging his sword furiously towards her, each time Ana blocking the blow as she fights only defensively. Clearly Ana is enjoying herself toying with him.
The rifleman takes his chance to use Rachel's frustration against her. As she faces Ana he readies his rifle and fires. Due to Rachel's distraction the shot hits her directly in the right shoulder. The shot pierces though quick and to her great luck. Clean. Rachel yells as her body Jerks back. The rifleman greatly satisfied with his attack is unable to hide his grin. "OY BITCH YOU GONNA BE LATE TO YOUR-" Rachel shifts her momentum from the shot back forward. Flipping the left half of her coat. Reviling Her pistol once again. In one motion she pulls it out of its holster. Eyeballs the shot, and fires. However because of the extra flare she preformed the rifleman was able to see everything coming. Mixed with the fact Rachel didn't take the proper time to aim. The man had succeeded in using her frustration to both hit her, and mess with her accuracy. He shifts his head at the last second. The shot grazes his face. Singing it. As he too tumbles off to the side behind some cover as well.

Hycsis watched the chaos unfold before her. The men scrambling to figure out what to do in the confusion, the satisfying crack of one of their legs and the rather pathetic attempts at self defense from the man laying before them as that fierce beast of a leviathan towered above him. She was all hycsis could have hoped for and she couldn't help but feel proud that the biggest contribution to this devastation was herself.
Whatever concerns about her sister she may have had quickly subside as she gets lost in what is to her becoming a strong echo from her time in the east. Though -- there isn't much time. The smell of singed air and the shine of liquid light draws her attention. Her first thought's aren't so much of herself as she could easily step behind lumen if she needed to, but if her comrade were lost to something as ridiculous as her own preoccupation... she wouldn't be able to forgive such insipid idiocy.
"Unum Repercutio, Lumen~" she recites and stretches her arms out towards Lumen. With any luck she might just be fast enough to shield Lumen. If not, the Leviathan would once again have to get creative. While she does this she completely ignores anything going on behind her, leaving her completely vulnerable.

Lumen grins from ear to ear as she feels the splintering of bone against her tendril. The speed enhancement Hycsis gave her felt good; almost too good. All her life she had taken hits to deal them, but with speed like this, maybe she should keep that little alv on hand… “I can definitely tell a’like you a lot,” she remarks to the alv behind her.
The second man was grazed, having barely dodged Lumen’s first attack. He stumbles just in front of her, frantically swinging in fear. At the same time, the rogue notices the mage casting a fireball from afar. “Fahking mages,” she blurts out, cursing the extra work it took to deal with them.
In an effort to block the fireball, Lumen will use a tentacle to grab the crippled man tightly by his neck, and use him as a shield. Should the block be successful, she'll go to smash him into the second man flailing about.
