Selene stands outside head hung in defeat. The pouring rain drenching her clothes. Her hair a mess. Her tears indistinguishable from the rain. Behind her in the doorway stands the woman she chose to spend her life with. Or did she? It was another rough night. Full of arguments and belittling. Eva attempted to calm Selene through seduction and charms, but it won’t work anymore. This not only irritates Eva. It scares her. “Just come back inside!” Eva yells leaning on the doorway. Her face is painted with a smile of someone who knows that they won, but it’s hiding something deeper. Fear. Fear that this time she might actually lose her. Eva scoffs. “Bunny get ba-“ Selene snaps around causing Eva to pause. “WHY DO YOU TREAT ME LIKE THIS?” Selene screeches. Eva stands there speechless for but a moment. Before the mask takes over and she smiles. “Because I love you silly.” She laughs. “That’s not love! You been with so many. Used so many.” Selene grips her hands tightly. “Is that even what you actually look like? It’s truly sad Eva! To never actually get to be you! No one would accept you for what you are! Not without your magic! Your a monster that preys on desire! Lust! That’s pitiful!” Eva stood there mortified.
“Oh yeah? Well you...” Eva pauses. Thinking. “You...” For once in a longtime she actually began to choke up. She couldn't find anything bad about Selene. Yes she could be a brat, or a pain in the ass. She was always there though. Dealing with Eva. Sticking it out. Eva grit her teeth and broke visual of Selene. She wouldn't cry. Not in front of her. She had her pride. “I what?” Selene asks. Now beginning to realize she for once has power. That Eva may actually be scared. “You can’t think of anything can you?” Selene says slightly chuckling. Almost in surprise. “Can you?” Eva doesn't look. “BITCH FUCKING ANSWER ME!!!!” Eva looks up. If she were a normal human her gums would be bleeding from the pressure she is putting on them. Again her eyes slowly drift. “You can’t...” Selene takes a step back shaking her head. Her foot makes a slight splash from the water. “I’m done.” Selene turns to walk away. “SELENE!!!” Eva yells. Selene waits. “I can change! I promise!” Selene takes another step. It’s not the first time she’s heard this.
“I’ll better!! Nicer!!” Eva pleaded form the doorway. Selene’s steps became a slow walking pace. Eva’s eyes opened wide. She really was leaving. One of the few people she’s known to ever care for her. Was walk away. She never wanted anything in return. All she needed was Eva, and she’s walking away. Eva quickly steps out into the rain ina panic. “SELENE!!!” She screams. Her voice echoed down the street. Selene stops dead. Eyes wide wide surprise. Eva has yelled at her many times, but she’s never heard a tone come from her like that. “I-I...” She breaths quickly looking around attempting to find the answer. When she focuses back on Selene the girl had turned to face her. “You what?” There was a pause of silence. The only noise was the rain. They were for a moment the only two on the planet. “I’m sorry...” Eva whimpers. Tears welling up in her eyes. “Tch!” Selene scoffs as she starts to turn. “I’M SCARED OKAY?!?” Eva yells. Selene rolls her eyes and once again turns back. “Yeah o-“ Eva was standing there now a nervous wreck.
“Ahh...” Selene mutters. The woman she was facing. This ‘monster’ by Selene’s description. Was herself soaked. Arms curled up. Visibly closing herself off for the world. Her head now tilted down. “I’m scared... I don’t want to open up... I can’t... I’ve been... So many times. I don’t like it.” Throughout her life she has used others, but she herself has been used. That’s why she is the way she is. Unknowingly to her she had become what she hated the most. “Even to me?” Selene herself now whimpering. “Eva when have I ever given you the idea that you can’t trust me? After everything I've been through with you! How have I not shown I care about you? Everything you are.” Selene asks generally confused. Eva shrugs weakly. Selene sighs long and deep. She cares about her to much. To the point where Eva’s charms have long since lost there affect. Selene just lets her win. Because it made Eva happy. Another moment passes. Footsteps are heard. Seven of them. Eva sees Selene’s feet. She raises her head but stops. She’s so ashamed. As if she doesn't deserve to look at her.
Selene’s hand touches Eva’s chin and begins to raise it. Eva shifts her eyes. She can’t look at Selene. “You have to stop! I swear Eva this is the last time!” No it’s not. Selene knows this. Not so much of it being a subject of a bad relationship, but leaving her in general. It’s could be a life or death situation. Selene wouldn't leave. How could she? “I’m so-“ Eva begins to say before Selene places her pointer finger over her lips. “Enough. It’s over...” Eva’s eyes widen with fear. “The argument silly...” Selene says with a faint smile.
Eva exhales hard as the rest of her tears pour out of her. Her knees hit the ground as she sobs loud in happiness and relief. Selene wraps her arms around her, and Eva buries her face in Selene’s chest. Eva attempts to speak but the only thing Selene can make out is sorry. A few seconds pass as Eva’s spasm begins to subside. She looks up at Selene a broken woman. Something that hasn’t happened in a long. “I love you...” Eva says faintly. Selene softly smiles. Her face becomes more caring. “You’ll stay? You won’t leave me?” Selene pauses. “How could I with you looking like this? You look horrible.” She says jokingly as she moves the wet hair from Eva’s face. “If I was to leave you’d at least need to be looking like a nine or ten to attract someone else and make their life a living hell.” Eva’s face turns sour. Then becomes more playful and seductive. She smacks Selene’s shoulder. “You like it...” Eva says still slightly chocked up. She again buries her face back into Selene with a wet smack. Selene sighs and smiles running her fingers through the wet hair on top of Eva’s head. “Yeah... I guess I do.” Selene places her hands on Eva’s shoulders to get her to stand. Selene begins to brush the mud of Eva’s knees. “Come on Eve.” Selene says. “Let’s get you back inside.”
Eva looked down on this girl. The one who dealt with her the most. The longest. Eva’s eyes begin to emit a pinkish glow. Faint energy began to come off them. Eva was going to charm Selene. Bring the girl back under her control. Eva hated it. Selene brought her down. Pulled her from power. Everything slowed from Eva’s perspective. And just as quickly as she began she stopped. Selene raises up to Eva. It’s well past the point of Eva’s makeup holding. What ever she was wearing was now running down her face. Selene still smiling wipes it from her eyes. “You know?” Selene asks. “Even when you look like shit you’re still as beautiful as the first day I met you.” Selene says as Eva rolls her eyes. Selene takes Eva’s hand and walks back to the door. She lets Eva meet her at the frame. “Thank you Eva...” Selene says honestly. Eva now looking surprised asks. “For... what?” Selene looks down clasping her hands behind her back and nervously balancing on her heels. She looks back up at Eva. “ For coming out to get me... you've...you've just never done that before.” Eva pauses in thought. “I’ll go start the shower Eve... we should probably warm up.” Selene scuttles off up the stairs to the second floor of the house. Eva was stunned as she watched her trot off. She never actually went after her before. Selene always comes back of her own accord. Eva slowly began to smile. Her eyes once again began to well up. She stood there in the doorway looking in the direction Selene ran. She scoffs and shakes her head. “It was worth it...”
